In the treatment of the ecological question, the prophetic reference is situated rather in the prophetic criticism. This aspect is evident according to the principle that the prophet denounces the unbearable. But the other facet of the prophet is "announces the unimaginable", and this dimension of the prophetic function is equally verified in the ecological theme. Hope, prophetic eschatology, announces the unimaginable, of which it is an essential part a new and integral ecology.
