This article discusses the legitimated violence in Josiah’s reform considering
narrative and archeological-historical aspects, as well as exegetical consideration of the terms expressing violence of 2 Kgs 23:1-25. An analysis of this violence from a gender perspective aimed at new hermeneutic paths completes the
study.
