The article presents and discusses the problems of Bible translation when addressing the indigenous peoples of America. It exposes the problems of “missionary translations” and seeks to show the ways for a post missionary translation that takes the indigenous cultural reality very seriously. Even the book format is questioned, insofar as it does not always adapt to the indigenous mentality.
