Leitura verde da narrativa em Êxodo 8,16-28

In taking up the episode in Ex 8:16-28, this study looks at the socio-environmental dimensions of the Exodus narrative. The millenarian text looks at a unique proliferation of flies, causing damage to the houses and soil occupied by the Egyptians. This raises two questions: (a) Where are the origins of the environmental catastrophe? (b) What should society, and especially those who govern it, learn from the disaster? Precisely because it includes God in this reflection, the biblical narrative favours an integral ecology, alerting us to the close connection between social and environmental issues.
