Abstract

This article uses the anthropology approach cultural, focusing on the role of women in Tobias' book, with a dual purpose. In addition to clarifying what the cultural role of the woman, wants to help locate the place of composition, since no proposal in this regard has been final.

It begins by introducing the families that are part of the story, then analyzes the women's relationships. Finally, it investigates on the situation of women in some books of the time, written in Egypt and in Palestine, to conclude that Tobias was certainly not written in that area.
