Abstract

In the biblical text, there are many faces of God that allow us to glimpse something of the divinity. But alongside this God who reveals himself, the Bible has kept pages where God's presence is missing, as if to indicate that silence also enters into man's relationship with God. This experience is also found in a handful of texts from the Mesopotamian and Egyptian religion that preceded the biblical one. Those men sought communication with God, made their attempts to bring God closer to the earth and put eyes, ears, and a mouth to facilitate communication.
