Resumen

El encuentro de Jesús y la mujer cananea o sirofenicia (Mt 15,21-28; Mc 7,24-30) ha sido interpretado con frecuencia a partir de la inquietante y a primera vista antipática frase de Jesús en Mt y Mc. Para algunos comentaristas ambas perícopas pueden representar una ruptura en la actitud de Jesús ante los gentiles, para otros su continuidad. Este artículo explora la posible presencia de elementos cananeos en el episodio de la mujer siria, es decir, propios de la cultura de la mujer, como pueden ser los existentes en el texto ugarítico RS 24.258 (KTU 1.114) sobre los perros bajo la mesa. Se proponen algunas reflexiones con vistas a la interpretación de los textos en cuestión.
