Abstract

He was born in La Plata on January 31, 1933. He was ordained a priest in Rome, on March 3, 1957 by the then secretary of the Sacred Congregation of Seminars and Universities, Bishop Carlo Confalonieri, later
cardinal. He studied at the Seminary of La Plata, at the Gregorian University, at the Pontifical Pio Latin American College, at the Pontifical Biblical Institute and the Pontifical Oriental Institute, Rome; at Oriental Institute of the University of Chicago and the National University from La Plata. From January 1, 1960 he was professor of Sacred Scripture at the Major Seminary of La Plata. And since March 5, 1987, by appointment of the later Archbishop of La Plata, Mons. Antonio Quarracino, he served as vice-rector of such seminary.
In April 1985 he served as parish priest of Our Lady of Mercy, the Seminary church; previously, since April 1983, it was in charge of the parish Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, in El Dique, Ensenada.
