Starting from the Panama Missionary Congress in 1916 and its emphasis on the Holy Scriptures as a fundamental missionary evangelization tool, the article seeks to rescue that tradition of seriousness and criticism of the biblical text. He proposes that the new translations that are being produced today for the 21st century be built on a solid exegetical foundation, taking into account the academic study of the Bible as a value of evangelistic, missionary and theological importance.
