Abstract

This is the first issue of the series edited by Eberhard Bons in collaboration with Françoise Vinel and Christoph Kugelmeier, which publishes monographs and works by various authors on the Septuagint and its philological, historical and theological context. The aim is to promote a multifaceted approach that includes vocabulary and style analysis, studies on the textual history of the Septuagint and its recensions, on the Jewish-Hellenistic society, comparative studies that also consider non-biblical sources (literature, papyri, epigraphic evidence...), and research on the history of reception and its influence on Jewish and Christian thought.
