The period from the Late Bronze Age to the Iron Age II in the Southern
Levant (ca. 1600-600 BCE) has been key for Siro-palestinian archaeology because,
based on biblical narration, it is considered the moment when the settlement of the Israelites and the conformation of United Monarchy, followed by the kingdoms of Israel and Judah, took place. The aim of this paper is to offer an updated summary
of the features and changes in urban settlement systems during that period for
which archaeological and epigraphic evidences are analyzed
