Abstract

DAGOBERTO LÓPEZ SOJO, "Abraham, father of us all.., Stylistic-argumentative analysis of Rm 4.1-25. Abraham, paradigm of Monotheistic Faith, CRB 64, J. Gabalda et Cie - Paris - 2005, 384 pp.

In the field of biblical research, it is common to find with studies dedicated to the Letter to the Romans that address linked to justification. In this context, the considerations surrounding to the figure of Abraham who realizes the fourth chapter of the said Letter are taken as an illustration of the one who has reached the condition of just through unconditional faith.

The result of the work is interesting and its original approach. It is proposes the figure of Abraham, as presented by Rom 4, as a potential meeting point for the so-called religions of the book, and especially for the dialogue between Jews and Christians. On the other hand, the author shows us that it is possible to combine technical rigor with a situated reading of the Holy Scripture.
