Resumen

Qo 4,17 menziona il “sacrificio degli stupidi”, all’interno di un passo polemico nei confronti del culto (Qo 4,17–5,6). Il Qohelet, in un versetto non privo di difficoltà testuali, non critica il culto sacrificale in quanto tale, ma lo relativizza; allo stesso tempo, attacca la pretesa umana di manipolare Dio: in questo consiste il comportamento degli “stupidi” che, nota ironicamente il Qohelet, “non sanno neppure di agire male”. Al “sacrificio degli stupidi” il Qohelet contrappone l’atteggiamento dell’ascolto e, in 5,6, quello del “temere Dio”, ovvero del riconoscimento della propria dipendenza da Lui.
